Dr. Alan Hilfer, graduated from Fordham’s doctoral program in Clinical/School psychology in 1980. He had attended Cornell University as an undergraduate and then CCNY where he completed a Master’s degree in Psychology.
Dr. Hilfer has spent the last 41 years at Maimonides Medical Center where he is currently the Chief Psychologist, The Director of Clinical Psychology Internship Training and the Associate Director of the Child and Adolescent Unit. Dr. Hilfer also taught as an adjunct assistant professor at Yeshiva University and City College in the 1980’s and has represented Maimonides Medical Center in the media for the past 25 years.
While his interests and training has focused on children and their families, Dr. Hilfer works with adults of all age ranges and has spent the majority of his career involved in the teaching and training of future psychologists and psychiatrists. His work in the Borough Park area has included research in many of the Yeshivas and public schools in the area as well as teaching and lecturing to many of the organizations associated with Borough Park.
